FMA's Future Goals

Hair cuts

Thanks to Sears Roebuck and Co. we can now provide a $50 gift certificate toward a hair cut to people diagnosed with cancer. Excessive Hair will be given to Locks of Love.

Delivery Truck

We are actively in negotiations to obtain delivery trucks to help families with moving expenses. We hope to provide a stress free moving experience for families who need to relocate.

Low cost housing

Sometimes the best care is far from home. We aim to provide low cost housing for those who need a temporary place to stay while their loved one is getting the treatment they deserve.

Outreach

People can feel helpless while watching a loved one suffer. We aim to find a positive outlet for those who need a constructive way to deal with their emotional situtation.

Areas of support

government programs

There are many government programs available to those that are suffering from a terminal illness. We help with letting families know what is available to them, and filing the paperwork in their time of need.

Medical and Living expenses

Financial obligations continue even when a loved one is sick. We believe you shouldn't have to choose between caring for a family member or going to work to pay the bills.

Transportation costs

We provide transportation to and from the hospital as well as car repairs. We also recognize the cost of gas and help relieve that burden.

Child Care

The unexpected expense of child care can hinder one's lifestyle when providing care for a loved one in need. We provide financial assistance for child care.

Food and clothing expenses

Emergencies happen and we understand that sometimes you can't make it to the store to provide necessary items. We help with the purchase and delivery of food and/or clothing.

Grief Counseling

Our grief counselors can help when life gets tough. We can be there for families and terminally ill patients that need someone who understands.

About FMA Foundation

FMA foundation was founded in 2012 by Jerry Torrey, Jr. His vision was to provide support for those experiencing financial hardships while dealing with a terminally ill family member.

He witnessed first hand as a childhood friend was diagnosed with wegener's granulomatosis at the prime of his life. He watched as his friend's wife had to choose between staying with him at the hospital or going to work to pay the bills.

Luckily, friends and family pulled together to provide support and they were able to keep their lights on and a place to stay. However, many people are not that fortunate. After talking with medical personal, Jerry found that this was an every day occurrence, and he felt that no one should need to make that choice.

His striving goal has been to help as many families as he can, and ease the discomfort of making difficult choices when life and love is in the balance.
